Space for yourself.

Bring a sketchbook, a camera, a book you have been meaning to finish. A few days at The Oast leave room for the things that rarely fit into an ordinary week.

Your own pace

A long walk. Absolutely no hurry.

A whole historic oast house in Frant, with an AGA kitchen, a comfortable sitting room and a private enclosed garden. Beyond it are fifteen acres of meadow, orchard and woodland to explore, in the High Weald near Tunbridge Wells.

Come on your own, as a couple, or with friends happy to share the house. These are self-catering stays, with the days left to you.

Painting & sketching

Let the landscape hold your attention.

The shape of the kiln roof, old brick and timber, a line of trees across the meadow. Bring your materials and spend an afternoon looking properly. There is no particular need to finish anything.

For an independent painting break, tell us how you like to work before booking. We can talk through suitable places to set up, your materials and what you would need on a wet day. Dedicated studio space, easels and tuition are not included.

Writing, reading & slowing down

A little room to think.

Bring the notebook, the half-written chapter or simply a good novel. Settle into the house, make another coffee, and take a walk when the words need a little help.

For a quiet countryside break, the pleasure is in having less to organise: breakfast at your own pace, time in the garden and an evening that can stay entirely unplanned. Your stay is accommodation only; classes, treatments and hosted programmes are not part of the booking.
