The Hathaway Huts
Two shepherd's huts, one private family stay, planned for the meadow beyond the second tree line at Martins Farm.
The Hathaway name comes from the historic dairy name preserved on the old milk churns associated with the farm, kept now in a single archive photograph of the horse, the cart and the churns. It will return in a pair of shepherd’s huts, hand-built by Plankbridge (opens in a new tab), specialist makers of traditional shepherd’s huts.
They are intended for the left meadow beyond the second tree line, within Martins Farm, with landscape and trees separating them from the main yard. Together the two huts form one private family stay: they are always used together and are never booked separately.
We are not releasing an opening date, a final price or any availability. The Oast remains the accommodation you can book at Martins Farm today.

The living hut
A kitchen, a sitting space and a wood-burning stove — the hut you come back to with wet boots and a plan for supper.
The sleeping hut
A double bedroom, a children's bunk room and a shower room, a few steps of grass away from the fire and the kettle.
The setting
Beyond the second tree line
The meadow they are planned for lies away from the yard, with trees and rising ground between. The intention is privacy without isolation: the estate around you, the yard out of view, and the walk back up to the lane short enough to do in the dark.

Status
- Can I book The Hathaway Huts?
- Not yet. The huts are in planning and are not bookable. No dates, prices or availability have been released. Join the first-to-stay list and we will write before bookings open.
- When will they open?
- We are not giving a date. Saying a month we cannot hold to would be worse than saying nothing, so we will announce it when the huts are in the meadow and ready.
- Where on the estate will they stand?
- In the left meadow beyond the second tree line, within Martins Farm, with landscape and trees between the huts and the main yard.

- No. The two huts form one private family stay and are always used together, never booked separately.
- What will be in each hut?
- The living hut will hold the kitchen, sitting space and wood-burning stove. The sleeping hut will hold a double bedroom, a children's bunk room and a shower room.
- Who is building them?
- Plankbridge, specialist makers of traditional shepherd's huts. The drawings shown are the maker's; layout and finishes may change.
